École La Vérendrye is a public French-language K–12 school located in the core of Lethbridge. This project involves the expansion of the existing gymnasium, including the addition of storage areas, a weight room, and multipurpose space.
The design places a strong emphasis on barrier-free access, incorporating two (2) exterior ramps along with new washroom and shower facilities.
Maintaining uninterrupted school operations is a key priority. The existing gymnasium will remain operational for as long as possible during construction. Any work required within the existing school to tie in services will be carefully scheduled during non-school days where feasible, or completed within secure hard hoarding to ensure the safety of students and staff and to fully separate construction activities from occupied areas.
